MIAMI at DETROIT -- Miami is obviously doing something right, with a 6-1-1 ATS record this season. Okay, maybe they're not exactly the same team on the road that they are at home. But the Dolphins have the kind of defense that helps them stay in games. Raucous Silverdome crowd not likely to rattle cool, collected Jay Fiedler too much. And Lamar Smith, who had previous tours of duty with the Seahawks and Saints, may actually be a better artificial turf runner than James Stewart. Since Miami's Olinde Mare every bit the field goal kicker Jason Hansen is, would tend to side with Miami grabbing available points. But perhaps a stronger look toward the "under" is in order here. Both Detroit and Miami are thin at the wide receiver spot; both employ "safety-first" offenses. Neither has a particularly dangerous quarterback, and both play legitimate defense. With both kickers particularly trustworthy, could come down to a battle of field goals and field position. THE PLAYS: UNDER 39.5 ** and MIAMI *
