CHARLES JAY brings a wide range of experiences
to the table for the clients of Total Action
.Jay was a veteran of 17
years actively in the boxing business, as a writer, publicist, matchmaker, manager, and
promoter
He also served as color commentator for, among others, Sunshine
Network and Prime Network, and has called 13 world championship fights for national and/or
international television
He has been the host of numerous radio
programs, including "Sportswatch with Charles Jay" on KDWN in Las Vegas,
"Total Action" on WAXY 790 in Miami, and "Charles Jay's Winning Edge",
which was syndicated into 55 markets by the American Radio Networks in
1990
..He was special events consultant to the casino industry from
1993-95, and helped to launch Casino Magic in Mississippi as a major venue for special
events and sports promotions
..Jay has been a casino/sports gaming
columnist for a number of leading publications, including Sports Form, Casino Player,
Florida Player, and The Gambler
While he was an active columnist in the
late '80's, he was one of the most widely-circulated casino gaming columnists in the
world
.As a handicapper, he has won numerous contests, including
all three legs (regular season, college bowls, Super Bowl) of the WSRF radio contest in
Florida in 1997 which was conducted completely over the air for 20 weeks
Jay
registered an astounding 62.3% winners against the Las Vegas number, one of the highest
percentages ever legitimately documented over the course of an entire
season
Is known as someone who is able to get on the
"inside" of a situation - indeed, has won notoriety and respect as an
investigative journalist as well; his series on the world of professional boxing - "Operation Cleanup" - is
considered by many to be some of the most insightful and important writing ever published
on the sport........For the last four years, has been editor/publisher of TotalAction.com, a sports and gambling
portal that continues to evolve and expand.........A native of Newark, N.J., he currently
makes his home in Northern Indiana, just a few miles from the campus of Notre Dame.
