BOXING INDUSTRY MEETING TO DISCUSS THE SPORT

Industry summit set for June 3rd

EAST ORANGE, NJ - The International Boxing Federation is inviting the boxing industry to attend a session entitled “Issues in Professional Boxing” at its upcoming convention on June 3rd from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Argent Hotel in San Francisco, California.

During the meeting, boxers, promoters, state commissioners, sanctioning bodies, officials, media representatives and other boxing personnel will gather to discuss the status of the boxing industry and develop recommendations for improving the sport.

“I am pleased that the IBF is able to host this historic event,” said Marian Muhammad, IBF President.

The meeting will feature a moderated discussion including such topics as: health and safety standards, media exposure and U.S. Senator John McCain’s bill to create a national boxing commission.

”I am excited about this event and look forward to attending,” said Larry Hazzard, Commissioner of the New Jersey State Athletic Commission.

While the meeting is open to members of the boxing public, those who wish to attend are asked to contact the IBF at (973) 414-0300 to register for the event.
