WHO SHOULD SUPPORT MY
CAMPAIGN?
The kind of people who should support my campaign, generally speaking, are those who think that government has become too intrusive in their lives, who feel their moral values are their own, who want to make their own decisions about the money they earn, and who want to see a return to ethics and accountability in government.
Specifically, I feel targeting the so-called "special issue" groups for support is a preferable strategy. To give you some examples - Gun Owners of America, the gun ownership group that believes most strictly in the Second Amendment and is not as politicized as the NRA; the Interactive Gaming Council and the American Gaming Association - two groups who advocate freedom in the area of casino gambling, which I believe to be one of the more underrated political issues; the Prospect Heights Action Coalition, which is fighting battles over eminent domain and corporate welfare in the matter of a publicy-financed arena in Brooklyn that will dislodge over a hundred families; Gay and Lesbian Advocates & Defenders, and the Human Rights Campaign - groups who are currently battling for gay marriage; The Free Speech Coalition, which works in conjunction with the adult entertainment industry.
Some of these groups may be considered "fringe", but they represent areas of liberty that are important. There is no voice in government, or on the campaign trail, to stand up for them. I'll tell you what - put together a bunch of these "special-issue" groups and all of a sudden you have a bloc of votes that can make the difference in an election.
