GOVERNMENT SPENDING

There is one certainty in this country - if you give government a nickel, it will spend that nickel, and another dime on top of that. And the thanks you'll get for your nickel is to get assessed a dime extra, for the same level of service, not to mention future spending on services that don't - or won't - deliver. No one in government ever seems interested in bringing you back any 'change'.

As for the deficit, which has reached record proportions under the Bush administration, looks like the most elaborate and expensive Ponzi scheme in the history of civilization. It's as if someone is banking on the Apocalypse coming so that no one really has to worry about it.
